Bronze Armed Forces Expeditionary Service Medal with a multi-colored ribbon.
The Armed Forces Expeditionary Service Medal (AFESM) was established by President John F. Kennedy on July 4, 1961. It is awarded to members of the United States Armed Forces who have distinguished themselves by participation in specific U.S. military operations, or in specific cases, for service in the United Nations Emergency Force. The medal recognizes service in a designated area of operations where no other U.S. service medal was authorized.
The medal itself features a bald eagle clutching a sword and an olive branch, symbolizing military might and peace, respectively, set against a background of rays emanating from a five-pointed star. The ribbon’s design incorporates various colors representing different branches of service and the diverse nature of expeditionary operations. Its creation marked a significant step in recognizing the broad spectrum of military deployments beyond traditional combat zones.
Condition is used but good.
