Model 1860 U.S. Cavalry Sword

Model 1860 cavalry sword. This sword was used by the U.S. cavalry between the American civil war 1861-1865 to the Indians war. The curved blade is in good condition with slight mottling and is dated 1865 on the ricasso with maker mark Ames of Chicopee, Massachusetts.

Brass three bar guard and brass pommel in good condition. Pommel is proofed marked JCW, leather grip missing the brass wire binding, in its steel scabbard which is heavily pitted.

Nice late civil war example.
