A 1885 pattern cavalry troopers sword with chequered leather grip, secured by 5 rivets. Steel guard with the Maltese cross motif, domed pommel. Steel single edged slightly curved blade, fullered on both sides and a flat spine. Issue dates 1887 and 1892, also marked ‘YC’ for Yeomanry cavalry.
In fair condition, overall it is solid, with the leather grips showing some surface wear but intact. Very slightly misshaped guard near the pommel, the sword is heavily pitted. No scabbard.
