M1860 Italian heavy cavalry sword

This heavy cavalry sword was made for the Italian army by A&E Holler, Solingen, Germany. Who received a contract from the Italian government. A&E Holler operated between 1839-1869. The 89cm slightly curved blade has a wide, flat spine and tapers to a spear point. Single broad fuller on both sides. Blade is in good condition, and has the makers mark of A&E Holler at the riccasso. Heavy duty steel guard showing slight age related marks, the leather wrapped wooden grip, with copper binding is in good order. Complete with steel scabbard that’s in good condition, slight dent near cape/shoe. Please see photos.

This is a brute of a sword and arguably one of the best Italian military swords.
