The medal “30 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945” was established by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on April 7, 1975. It was awarded to all military and civilian personnel who participated in the Great Patriotic War, as well as those who worked on the home front during the war years. The medal commemorates the 30th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany.
This medal is made of brass and features a central image of the Motherland Monument in Volgograd, with fireworks in the background. The dates “1945-1975” are inscribed below. The ribbon is composed of the Order of the Red Star ribbon (red with a green stripe) and the ribbon of the Medal “For the Victory over Germany” (red with a black and orange stripe), symbolizing the combined efforts and sacrifices made during the war.
